The existing roadway consists of a 24-foot-wide paved travel way with varying asphalt thickness (1.5 to 6 inches), 2 to 6 inches of crushed base, and side slopes ranging from 2:1 to 6:1. The proposed roadway expands to a 32-foot-wide paved section with two 12-foot travel lanes and 4-foot shoulders on each side. The new design includes 4 inches of hot mix asphalt, 3 inches of crushed base, and an 8-inch cement-treated base, with side slopes limited to a maximum of 4:1. TGE is managing project design, while Laramie County will oversee bidding and construction management. Construction cannot begin until a required lump-sum deposit is made into the road project account. For safety reasons, individual roadside mailboxes will be replaced with designated mailbox turnouts and cluster box units (CBUs). An example image of a cluster mailbox installation is shown.
